Northern Cyprus announces general elections results

AVRUPA-Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Supreme Electoral Council (SEC) announces official results of early general elections. The Supreme Electoral Council has announced the official results of the early general elections of Sunday, 7 January 2018.The Supreme Electoral Council President Narin Ferdi Şefik announced the election results at a press conference yesterday.

 

 

 

Şefik said that the deputy makeup of the new Assembly will be as follows:

UBP – 21

CTP – 12

HP – 9

TDP – 3

DP – 3

YDP – 2

She also said that multiple voting accounted for about 11%, and 11.7% of votes were invalid.

Şefik stated that the results will be posted at the county election boards and there will be a reclamation period until Friday at 17.00.

According to the statement, the voting percentage won by each party are as follows: TDP 8.61%; MDP 0.13%; TKP YG 2.67%; UBP 35.57%; DP 7.83%; YDP 6.96%; HP 17.10%; CTP 20.97%.
