Joan Ryan MP has welcomed the positive Care Quality Commission (CQC) report into the services provided by the Royal Free London NHS Trust

AVRUPA TIMES (LONDON)-Joan Ryan MP has welcomed the positive Care Quality Commission (CQC) report into the services provided by the Royal Free London NHS Trust and requested a meeting with the Chief Executive, David Sloman, to discuss the CQC's identified areas for improvement.

The Trust's three hospital sites at Chase Farm in Enfield, Barnet, and the Royal Free in Hampstead, have all been rated as 'good' by CQC inspectors and _"overall the service patients receive is effective, responsive and compassionate."_

However whilst the CQC _"found examples of safe care"_ in many of the services they inspected, the report states that _"there is room for improvement in urgent and emergency services and medical care at the Royal Free Hospital […] and medicine at Chase Farm Hospital." _

The CQC report also identified a number of areas for improvement including the need to meet the national standards for the 62 day cancer wait times and to reduce the number of outpatients' appointments which are cancelled with less than 6 weeks' notice.

JOAN RYAN MP, LABOUR MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT FOR ENFIELD NORTH, SAID:

_ _

_"As the CQC has said, it is a real achievement that all three of the Trust's hospitals are offering a good service to patients in my constituency and elsewhere. _

_ _

_I pay tribute to the hard work and dedication of the frontline medical staff as well the leadership shown by the senior management team at the Trust. _

_ _

_However the safety of patients is paramount, so I will be seeking assurances from David Sloman about how and when the CQC's identified areas for improvement will be delivered."_
