Organized Crime Department chief Nazmi Ardic, Anti-Smuggling Department chief Tugrul Turhal, Anti-Terrorism Department chief Omer Kose, Financial Bureau Department chief Yakup Saygili and Public Security Department chief Ersan Ercikti have been names as the five officers who lost their jobs on Wednesday.
Although the details of their release is not yet clear, many commentators are already suspecting a connection with the arrest of 52 people, including top businessmen and government officials, on corruption and bribery charges.
