Fashion and Style

Elisha Fields

As I write this, Paris Fashion Week ended last week. What has this got to do with anything? You might ask! Well Turkish born fashion designer Hakaan Yildirim had to cancel his Paris Fashion Week show due to the courier company losing his collection. Talk about disasters! By writing about the drama, I hope he gets more publicity and more people checking out his work. I also thought it would be a good excuse to talk about fashion and style, so here we go.

We've come a long way since Adam and Eve. Clothes are no longer just used to merely cover for modesty and to keep warm; we now dress to impress and take care of our appearances. And to cut to the chase, I just want say I love how David Beckham came along and was a leader for guys to start experimenting and for them to get into grooming and shopping more. Posh is doing something so right as well. Designers such as the late Alexander McQueen are genius. Finding a bargain designer piece is a high. Harrods will always be one of my favourite places to shop.

Seeing someone well styled is so inspiring. Wearing the right clothes can increase your pulling points by a long way as well as landing you that dream job and achieving you many other things. Some might think singing, for example, is a great form of self expression but I think styling yourself too is a fabulous release of expressing yourself. It might sound shallow but what we wear really is important and we might as well make an effort in investing in something that has such a massive impact on our lives.
