Boris Bans Advert

If you had not already noticed, on London buses recently

If you had not already noticed, on London buses recently, there has been a Stonewall (gay rights charity) advert displaying the words, "Some people are gay. Get over it!" In response to this advert, religious groups wanted to put up their own advert with the words, "Not gay! Ex-gay, post-gay and proud. Get over it!" across buses in London.

The poster mimics the "Some people are gay" poster with the red, black and white colours and its choice of words, "Get over it!" Boris Johnson has put an immediate stop to the "Not gay!" advert going out. He says that London is one of the most tolerant cities in the world and is not tolerant of intolerance. Further on he stated that the poster suggests that homosexuality is an illness that can be cured.

I think the poster is outrageously offensive and I'm pleased that Boris has put a stop to it being shown around the capital. I'm shocked that the poster could have almost been displayed especially because we do live in such a tolerant and diverse city. I can't imagine what the reaction would be if the advert had gone out!

The race is still on for London Mayor. We all want to live in a tolerant society with no hatred, and I'm pleased that Boris stands for that too.
