The application system opens on 1 September. With all of Islington's secondary schools rated as good or outstanding by Ofsted and the borough achieving its best ever GCSE results this year, Islington schools are an excellent choice for parents.
The deadline for applications for the September 2014 intake is 31 October 2013. All the borough's secondary schools are holding open days and evenings for parents to go along and find out more about what each one of them offers.
Cllr Joe Caluori, Islington Council's executive member for children and families said:
"Choosing the right secondary school for your child is a really important decision. Parents can find out a lot about what's on offer by visiting the schools, talking to staff and reading our prospectus.
"There has never been a better time for Islington secondary schools. Students are achieving better exam results than ever before and high quality teaching is preparing young people well for futures in higher education or employment.
"Competition for places is growing each year, so I'd urge parents not to delay in getting their applications in."
