'THE ACTION ON HDP IS WITHIN THE LAW'

Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım answered the questions of journalists in Istanbul about recent developments.

Prime Minister Yıldırım, commented on the question about the operation on MPs from HDP for failing to appear for testimony:

"All our citizens are equal before the law. This action is an action within the law. So, the courts have issued summons for 154 members of the parliament who were stripped of their immunity before. All of these MPs, with the exception of those from HDP, have testified and the legal process continues. Only one MP from HDP went to court to testify while the remaining 54 have failed to appear. In other words they did not recognize the rule of law. So the action was taken because of the disobedience to judicial summons. They were detained because of this."

"Terror Should not be Confused with Politics and National Will"

"Replacing the elected is possible only through election." Prime Minister Yıldırım answered a question about this statement from Turkey's main opposition Republican People's Party (CHP) leader Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu:

"Of course those who came with elections will be replaced with elections, without a doubt. Those who come with elections and keep close ties with terror must account for it. Terror should not be confused with politics and national will. This is a judicial action about the MPs whose parliamentary immunity was lifted with a Constitutional amendment because they cooperate with

  terror, promote terror, encourage it and give it logistic support despite the fact that they are elected members of the parliament."

For the question about KCK's call for action, Prime Minister Yıldırım stated that the local community and the people ignore these calls and added: "There is nowhere to go with terror.Turkey will continue its struggle against terror relentlessly. Our operations will continue unabated until we completely ensure the safety of life and property."
