Selfish and Greedy Society

Selfish and greedy people; there seems to be so many in our society. There are people out there who seem to have a don't care attitude about anyone but themselves, there's people full of jealousy who want to mess things up for others, and there's people with no guilty conscience. What's worse is that a lot of people who act like this are our "friends". Yes, I've noticed a lot of "friends" who bad mouth their friends to others, "friends" acting immoral, and "friends" deliberately messing things up for their friends. What I would like to say is that we should be helping our friends and want the best for them. However I've seen many cases such as "friends" getting jealous when their friends are getting courted, "friends" taking advantage, "friends" not doing the right thing etc. Honestly if these "friends" acted like friends are supposed to be, they would get so much back and be appreciated more but instead these "friends" are sabotaging their friendships.

Honestly I don't like how competitive our society is. I wish more focus to be placed on working as a team rather than having an ego. When you don't have an ego and you take yourself less seriously, you will feel more content. I remember classmates back in the day who would make a drama over tiny criticisms from teachers but would sit there conceitedly when other students had a tougher time. Why should we think we're the best just because we are in our bodies and experiencing our thoughts? I would rather be heartbroken than break anyone's heart. I've done it before and it hurts me more but that story's for a therapy session. Anyway it makes me realise we should be thinking about others not ourselves all the time. I think society can be confusing; I feel as if we're taught to aim to be the best but also to be selfless. Well I'm telling you it's much better to share the candy than to keep it all to ourselves.

There will be people throughout our lives who will make a great impact on us and we can look at them as angels. I was in the queue to buy two CDs some years ago, I was £1 short, the guy behind me coughed up £1 for me. I was rushing in the airport, concerned I was going to miss my flight, a couple in the lift calmed me and said I would be fine. If the world were to end and I had a lifeboat, I would help these people. To wrap this all up, I just want to say, we should be more thoughtful and sensitive towards others. Be an angel for someone.
