Rifat Ozbek has done it again! And this time his latest venture has been designing the new and most talked about exclusive private members’ club in London, 5 Hertford Street. This brand new exclusive club sits in, no doubt, the most high end neighbourhood in the west end, Mayfair. That’s a fantastic choice of location for a club that is intending to be very private and classy. Furthermore the club does not only sit in Mayfair but is hidden away in Shepherd Market area.
If there is a “Secret Mayfair” then Shepherd Market makes the grade. Anyone will tell you, Shepherd Market is a very cool place for professionals to have a drink after work. The club is hidden away close to Piccadilly and the nightlife of the buzzing west end. I would think that members would really be treating themselves after a night out of partying to then end up at 5 Hertford Street. In the daytime, Shepherd Market is a relatively quiet place, perhaps the opening of the club will boost the economy in this area.
More about the club. The owner is Robin Birley, who formerly owned the well known, Annabel’s, a club that is no stranger to even those not on the clubbing circuit. One mention of Annabel’s and 5 Hertford Street’s prestige sky rockets. Interesting fact about Robin. He is the half brother of Jemima Khan, Ben and Zac Goldsmith. The four of them have the same mum, and funnily enough her name is Annabel! Tracey Emin recently threw her 49th birthday party at Annabel’s, perhaps we will be seeing her at 5 Hertford Street anytime soon. What other names might we also expect here? Well at the opening night Kate Moss and Mick Jagger were spotted.
Apparently £20 million was spent on renovation for the club. The interior of the club looks grand and exotic and what you would expect from a private members’ club. This is not just a club though, inside there are restaurants, bars, a cinema room, card playing zone, cigar shop and a nightclub, and that’s just for starters. Thanks Rifat for having such great taste! There is something so special about hanging out in exclusive clubs, such as this, and it’s becoming more of desire and fascination amongst the public. Please, someone, make some more.
