Muslim Aid will reach out to the public through several TV and Satellite live appeals during the holy month of Ramadan. As every year, the aim of these live appeals is to raise charity funds and awareness for its key programmes in emergency relief and post-disaster recovery and development in many countries in Africa, Asia, the Middle East and Europe.
The dates of the Live Appeals are as follows:
Tuesday 16th July Channel ‘S’ - Sky Channel 814 (from 1700 hrs)
– The Theme of the Appeal is Syria Emergency
Wednesday 17th July Islam Channel - Sky Channel 813 (from 2100 hrs)
– The Theme of the Appeal is MA Feed the Fasting Programme in 41 Countries
Monday 22nd July Islam Channel - Sky Channel 813 (from 2100 hrs)
– The Theme of the Appeal is Syria Emergency and the needs of Syrian Refugees and Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs)
Tuesday 30th July Islam Channel - Sky Channel 813 (from 2100 hrs)
– The Theme of the Appeal is MA Rainbow Family Child Sponsorship Programme
Saturday 3rd August Channel ‘S’ - Sky Channel 814 (from 2100 hrs)
– The Theme of the Appeal is MA Rainbow Family Child Sponsorship Programme
Monday 5th August ARY - Sky Channel 806 (from 2000 hrs)
– The Theme of the Appeal is Water, Education and Healthcare Projects (tbc)
This year Muslim Aid’s ‘Feed the Fasting Programme’ will reach 41 countries around the world, including Syria and Myanmar. Muslim Aid distributes food parcels to families in need which last the entire month of Ramadan and cost just £50.
Muslim Aid’s ongoing ‘Rainbow Family Child Sponsorship’ development programme will also be the theme of two live appeals, and will showcase the many achievements that the programme has made to development in vulnerable communities.
Muslim Aid encourages its donors and supporters to tune into the live appeals in order to gain a deeper understanding of the programmes which they contribute towards.
